Basics of Online Security & Privacy

Published: October 1, 2025

In the 25+ years of operation that the American Nazi Party has maintained (being revived by an original member of George Lincoln Rockwell’s ANP), we have had zero scandals and zero incidences of our members and Official Supporters being exposed to the enemy. This is not by accident. We take privacy and security very seriously and aren’t obsessed with just “numbers” but are focused on QUALITY numbers–people serious about this cause.

Maintaining privacy and security online is very important—and more difficult—than ever. Governments, corporations, and malicious actors constantly collect data on users, making anonymity a challenge. However, you don’t need to be a cybersecurity expert to protect yourself. By following smart, practical steps, you can reduce your digital footprint without descending into paranoia.

This brief guide provides some basic privacy practices, including:

  • Using fake but realistic identities
  • Managing email securely
  • Choosing the right VPN (Mullvad is best)
  • Avoiding common mistakes

1. Use a Fake (But Believable) Name

Why?

Your real name is a direct link to your identity. Using it everywhere makes tracking trivial.

How?

  • Create a pseudonym that sounds real (e.g., “Mark Taylor” instead of “John Doe”).
  • Avoid unusual names (they stand out in databases).
  • Use this name consistently for accounts where anonymity matters (forums, activism, etc.).

  • Don’t use fake names for legal/financial activities (banking, official documents).
  • Some platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn) enforce real-name policies—weigh the risks.

2. Separate Your Email Accounts by Purpose

The Problem:

Using one email for everything (work, personal, activism) links your activities. If one account is compromised, everything is exposed.

The Solution:

  • Work Email – Only for professional use.
  • Personal Email – Friends, family, non-sensitive accounts.
  • Activism/Anonymous Email – Use ProtonMail or Tutanota (encrypted).
  • Spam/Throwaway Email – For sign-ups, use SimpleLogin or AnonAddy (forwarding aliases).

3. Use Mullvad VPN (The Best Choice for Privacy)

Why Mullvad?

Most VPNs log your data or have shady ownership. Mullvad is different:

  • No account needed (pay with cash or Monero).
  • No logging (proven in audits).
  • WireGuard support (faster and more secure).

How to Use It?

  1. Download from mullvad.net.
  2. Pay anonymously (cash, Bitcoin, Monero).
  3. Connect and browse privately.

IVPN is another good VPN to consider: https://www.ivpn.net/en/

  • A VPN does not make you 100% anonymous (combine with Tor for maximum privacy).
  • Avoid free VPNs (they sell your data).

4. Don’t Let Paranoia Stop You—Just Avoid Obvious Risks

The Balance Between Security and Freedom

Some activists avoid digital tools entirely out of fear—but inaction is also a risk. Instead:

  • Do the basics well (fake name, separate emails, VPN).
  • Don’t overshare (avoid linking accounts).
  • Use Signal (found on app stores) for sensitive chats (end-to-end encrypted).

Stupid Mistakes to Avoid:

Reusing passwords (use a password manager like Bitwarden).
Posting identifiable info (photos, locations, real name).
Using Google/Facebook logins (they track you across sites).

  • Bitwarden (Free Password Manager)

Conclusion: Privacy Without Paralysis

You don’t need to be a hacker to stay private—just follow smart, practical steps:

  1. Use a fake (but realistic) name where possible.
  2. Separate emails (work, personal, activism).
  3. Use Mullvad VPN (or IVPN).
  4. Avoid obvious mistakes (password reuse, oversharing).

Good work always carries some risk, but by avoiding stupid and obvious mistakes, you can operate safely without crippling paranoia.

Stay safe, stay private—but don’t let fear stop you from acting.
