The Lie of the “Useless Eater”

In the hollowed-out carcass of modern liberal society, where disabled lives are reduced to institutionalized isolation or treated as mere financial liabilities, a particularly insidious myth has been peddled: that National Socialist Germany was uniquely hell-bent on eradicating all who didn’t conform to an ideal of physical perfection. This lie—meticulously crafted to shield the modern era’s callous indifference from scrutiny—collapses the moment one examines what was actually built for the disabled who were already among the Folk.

Exhibit A: The Hitlerjugend’s special sections for the deaf (Bann G, founded 1934) and the blind (Bann B, founded 1933). Young deaf Germans were integrated into the Hitler Youth not as pity cases, but as vital members of the national community. Participation wasn’t about mimicking soldiering, but it was about discipline, achievement, and belonging. By 1937, nearly 4,000 deaf pupils had joined Bann G which is over three-quarters of all deaf schoolchildren in Germany. They engaged in genuine sporting competitions, gymnastics, and marching exercises. They earned performance distinctions. They read Die Quelle, a periodical tailored to their formation, written by deaf teachers and leaders who emphasized capability, not limitation.

The publication laid out the ethos plainly: “Educated so they can replace hearing comrades in workplaces should war come.” That is not the language of extermination. That is the language of a society that believed every member of the Folk had a role to play in the common destiny.

For more severely disabled people, Hitler successfully implemented establishment of specialized care villages and structured living communities for the mentally handicapped and others who required lifelong support without a family willing to care for them. These facilities were designed to provide a structured environment, purpose, and a form of care separate from the general population.

Now, contrast this with the “compassion” of the liberal order.

Critics will rush to mention sterilization laws, as if the United States under Oliver Wendell Holmes did not pioneer forced sterilization, or as if liberal Sweden did not maintain such programs into the 1970s. But the real hypocrisy is more current and more monstrous. In Iceland and Denmark TODAY, the abortion rate for Down syndrome approaches 100%. The modern regime does not bother with camps or laws; it simply prevents the “inconvenient” from ever drawing breath, then holds “awareness” walks to congratulate itself on its “kindness”. That is the true face of liberal eugenics.

For those who do survive the womb, the modern West offers a ghetto of lowered expectations. Our “inclusive” education system herds disabled youth into segregated classrooms, hands them participation trophies for merely existing, and graduates them into a “life skills” track with no genuine expectation of contribution. This judeo-capitalist system does not forge them; it warehouses them. It does not allow them to rise; it sweeps them under the rug.

The capitalist asks: “What can this person produce for the market?” The National-Socialist asked: “What is this person’s role in the Folk?” One path leads to the sterile loneliness of the social worker’s caseload; the other leads to the organic fulfillment of shared duty and earned pride.

We don’t need more “Be Kind” bumper stickers. We need to look at the disabled members of our own communities and ask an honest question: Are they being prepared for lives of discipline and contribution, or are they being kept as permanent children, fed and medicated until the funding runs out? Bann G remains a testament to the belief that even the most fragile piece of the Folk is worth fighting for. A National-Socialist government would be far more humane than this currently vile empire that worships money above all else.
