Well, it looks like the theory that has been going around the internet was wrong. It said that the Demoncraps would end the shutdown the Monday or Tuesday after the No Kings rally on the National Mall (in D.C.) that was held last October 18. Two weeks later and it’s still going on with no end in sight.
What I can’t figure out is what do they hope to accomplish? As of today, anyone receiving SNAP food benefits will be SOL. Sure, there are plenty of leeches out there who really shouldn’t be getting these benefits. They can just go out and get a job. But what about a single mother working for minimum wage? How do they expect her to feed her kids? Food banks? They will run dry damn quick with the increased pressure for food. What about the crippled person who can barely get out of bed to use the bathroom. You can’t tell him to get a job. What about the elderly who depend on benefits? At their age, they shouldn’t have to get jobs.
I can’t help but wonder what will happen next week. I would imagine the pressure on both sides is going to increase enormously. BTW, I did some checking. For those who are on the SNAP program, if you have money still on your cards, you can still use whatever you have left. If you have two or three hundred dollars already loaded on your card, you can last another week or two. Most people won’t have anything but a few bucks left over from previous months.
Naturally, the Demoncraps and the Republirats are blaming each other. They are both at fault. They are playing politics with people’s lives. However, polls indicate that 61 percent of Americans are blaming the shutdown primarily on the Democrats. I’m sure that most of the 39 percent who blame the Republicans suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome and would blame them regardless of the circumstances.
It makes me wonder just what the Democrats hope to get out of all this. They claim to be saving healthcare for millions of Americans. Saving healthcare at the expensive of food benefits? That’s just plain crazy. There is a basic list of human needs from most important, to least. The first is food and water. Without that, no one survives. The next is shelter. Who wants to be homeless? The next is clothing. Who wants to be naked? Lastly is healthcare. The Democrats are asking people to sacrifice the need at the top of the list, to preserve the need at the bottom. It just isn’t going to work. Besides, more that half of those who receive SNAP benefits are also on Medicare or Medicaid, so their healthcare needs are being met. People who are on SNAP and Medicare/Medicaid are not going to sacrifice their food benefits so the other half will keep their ACA benefits.
That’s the problem with those who are sincere in helping people through Socialism. They don’t get the fact that for Socialism to work, everyone has to be on board willingly, and be willing to make sacrifices for the good of the community. Ain’t gonna happen, people. Everyone looks out for Number One first. They are not going to make sacrifices that will hurt themselves and their families in order to help strangers. It’s just not how people really are.
Also, the Democrats have portrayed themselves as the champions of the poor and working class. Letting people go without food benefits is not going to win them any kudos from the very people they claim to champion. So just what the hell do they think they are doing?
I have to admit, I have no idea. The only thing I’m sure of is they must have some kind of plan in place, and they are making this an all or nothing endeavor. They either win it all, or go down in flames.
Now, I have heard that Trump wants to invoke the so-called “Nuclear Option” which will end the congressional filibuster, which requires a sixty percent vote to pass a new budget or at least a continuing resolution that will extend last year’s budget temporarily, but will get the government reopened. The Republicans do hold the majority in both houses, but neither is a 60 percent majority. I believe one Democrat senator is siding with the Republicans, but it’s still not enough.
If we can end the filibuster, then all we’ll need is a simple majority – 50 percent plus one vote. I wonder if this somehow is what the Democrats really want? They tried to end the filibuster during Slow Joe’s term, but failed. Maybe they want to remove it now, so it will benefit them in the future. I have no idea. It doesn’t seem likely, but you just never know about these things. Politicians just don’t think the same way as normal people. If they did, we wouldn’t be in this mess. But it goes to prove what I’ve said all my life – democracy doesn’t work.
A Fine Mess

The country is fast becoming a non white cesspool. Blacks act uppity, and privileged. We have illegal non white aliens slipping in by the boatload. In the meantime we whites get treated like crap. Our country isn’t ours anymore.
When a black gets a job just because he’s non white, the issue is very wrong. Black work ethics are non-existent. Whites have ALWAYS put their nose to the grindstone. This country will soon be unsafe for whites, if we don’t control nonwhite rampages.
Our kids deserve far more than to be the object of ridicule because of their race. In this sick society, white kids are told to be ashamed of their race. I find this outrageous. We whites have done so much for this land. We died for it. Now damn neo Communist liberals want to erase everything Whites have accomplished. They hate their own race. They want a new USSR.
I say to hell with them. We whites deserve respect. We have rights. We’ve come too far to end up in the dirt. Become a supporter of ANP. Donate money. Donate your time to give out literature. Help us spread the good word. We must counter the non white invasion, before white civilization is destroyed.

Personally my problem with socialism is that in mainstream politics it thrives under the assumption that the poor are greedy and naive. Instead of paying attention to specifics it is only to use the poor and their desperation to gain political power.
It’s all about political power. The Democrats claim to be the champions of the poor and oppressed, yet they are keeping the government shutdown and putting people’s food stamp benefits at risk. The Republicans have offered a clean CR, which means they continue last year’s budget without change until they can reach an agreement. The Democrats claim the Republicans are trying to trash the ACA. Even if that were true, a clean CR would have no effect on the ACA. No. What the Democrats are doing is using the shutdown as pressure against the Republicans so they can get a new budget with everything they want. For them, this is an all or nothing effort. They win it all, or go down in flames.
When liberals are disillusioned with democrat politicians they still don’t listen to reason. They either don’t really care or they go farther left unfortunately. As for the younger liberals, the latter is more common which is scary because I’d really rather not see democratic socialists get any more traction.
