The median home price in that same Wisconsin town has exploded from $132,000 to $309,000—effectively doubling the income-to-price ratio from a manageable 2.5x to a crippling 5x in just two decades. This 100% increase in housing costs is the mathematical definition of the American Dream’s cancellation for the working class.
